Mobile and manufactured homes are especially vulnerable to wildlife because skirting, vents, and access points are easier for animals to breach than a poured foundation. In Michigan, we see the same repeat offenders again and again.

• Squirrels and raccoons. Both are strong enough to tear open vents or damaged skirting, and once inside they chew wiring, insulation, and ductwork.
• Mice and rats. Small enough to slip through the tiniest gaps, and capable of nesting in insulation while gnawing on wood and wiring.
• Bats. Attics offer the dark, undisturbed space bats look for, and their droppings create serious air quality and structural concerns over time.
• Groundhogs and opossums. More common under the home than inside it, these animals dig and disturb skirting, vapor barriers, and crawlspace insulation.
